The Zoo

Today we went to the Columbus Zoo. Megan was able to actually pet a few animals - a black rat snake, a tortoise, & a flamingo. (Those pictures are on Nathan's phone. Hopefully they'll be uploaded soon.)
Here's Megan in the petting zoo with the goats.

Megan at the new polar bear exhibit, which is amazing by the way. There's one part where you go underneath the tank and can see the polar bear swimming above your head! (Again on Nathan's phone.) Anyway here's Megan holding up some example of what the polar bears eat.

And just in case you think Quinn wasn't there too. Here's a picture of a very sleepy Quinn with his very sleepy big sister Megan.

Circus Week

Daycare had circus week recently. They teachers had face painting and here is Megan my little clown.

On a side note Quinn has started crawling and pulling up on everything. He's become McGrabby. Grabbing everything and trying to get it into his mouth.

Pictures

Megan likes to tell me she's going to be 3 on her birthday. "I 2 now, but I'll be 3 on my birfday."

Is it sad that Quinn already has thicker hair than Megan and me?

Megan's Big Girl Bed

Megan is now in a big girl bed. A little over a week ago she started climbing out her her crib constantly. We put her to bed, she climbed out, we put her back, she climbed out, we put a baby gate up in her door and she climbed over it. This went on for 4 and a half hours. Her normal 7 o'clock bedtime turned into an 11:30 bedtime. So that weekend we made the switch. The first night she did well. Each night after that got progressively worse and again she wasn't going to bed until 11:30. Though I think I may have found the solution. Megan gets put in her bed, when she gets out we take her blankie away for 10 mins. After the blankie time out, she gets back into bed and goes right to sleep. So now her bedtime is back to normal. ...for now.
Meg her first night in her big girl bed. A couple of nights ago Megan told Nathan, "Daddy, this is a big girl bed. You are a boy. Get out."

Megan after a bath. She loves her doggy towel and even had to turn around to show me her tail.

The Zoo

We went to the zoo since Friday was sunny and beautiful. It was an interesting trip since Megan had bouts of crabbiness and Quinn wanted me to hold him. We didn't see many animals since the zoo was packed. (And I do mean packed since the zoo later recorded having over 30,000 visitors on Friday.) But overall we had fun.

Thank goodness for my mei tai. Now I can actually get things done and still hold him.

Megan outside watching the gorillas. She liked watching the big gorillas a lot and started asking to see them as soon as we were driving to the zoo. But Megan being Megan, she kept telling us that she didn't want the gorillas to hold her. She only wanted to look at them. And it was our job to make sure the gorillas didn't hold her.

Visiting Gramma Ancy

This weekend we went up to visit the Cleveland relatives. Very productive weekend as Quinn decided to get up on all 4s. Could crawling be in the near future?

Gramma Ancy with her favorite grand kids. Of course, they're her only grand kids but that doesn't mean anything does it?

Gramma Ancy and Megan are trying to find the pickle among the potpourri. It was there the first time they played, but it soon escaped to the blue house with the Daddy pickle. Pretty soon Swiper came and tried to swipe the pickle. But Megan was able to catch Swiper in her sippy cup. Unfortunately, Swiper's Mommy came and helped Swiper escape. Complicated isn't it? But it kept Megan occupied for hours.

6 months

Well, Quinn is 6 months. I can't believe he's halfway to a year. It's amazing to me how fast it's going by. Q had his 6 month apt. he's 28.75 inches and 17lbs 13 oz. Apparently, a long and lean baby - though I think he's a solid little man.
Here are a few pictures from his 6 month pictures. I ended up doing them with Megan, by accident. At 3 months she had pictures at daycare, 6 months was Christmas so I bought copies of her with Santa, then we bought 9, 12 and 18 month pictures and I'm so glad we did. It's so neat to see her progress as she gets bigger. So I've made it a point to do the same with Quinn.
Seriously could this boy get any cuter?
