More Meganisms

I have to say 2 1/2 is my favorite age so far. Megan is talking in paragraphs and can carry on entire conversations. She has a great imagination, has several book memorized and loves reading them to Quinn. She just cracks me up. Here are a few of the things Meg has been telling us.

"I'll have to talk to Daddy about that." - said to me after I told her no.

"No, I do it myself." - She's little Miss Independent

"It IS gonna happen, Mama. It IS." - said when I tell her no.

Megan to her daycare teacher, "I want chocolate."
Teacher #1, "You only get chocolate if you go in the potty."
Megan goes to the other teacher in her room "I want chocolate."
Teacher #2 "Did you go potty?"
Megan - "Yes, I did."

"Look Mommy. I have boobs too!"

"Quinn wants to eat off of that one." - pointing to my chest.

At daycare the babies were with the toddlers for a little bit. Quinn started crying. Megan ran over to the teacher and said, "Quinn wants to eat."
Teacher "I know Megan, I'm warming the bottle."
Megan, "NO. Quinn wants to eat NOW! Hurry up."

4 Months & Dora Panties

Quinn had his 4 month apt. yesterday and all is well. He's 15 lbs. 11 oz (75%) and 26.5 inches long (95%). Megan usually fell in the same categories so it looks like my kids may be similar. He got 2 shots and did well. They gave both at the same time. Q looked at them, let out a cry, I picked him up and he was done. The boy's a trooper I tell you. The doctor thinks he'll be keeping his big, baby blues. She said if a baby's eyes are going to change they usually look a little murky, and his are big and clear. So fingers crossed he gets to keep the beautiful blue eyes. Quinn's rolling over now, both ways. He doesn't always do it on purpose, but he's gone from tummy to back and back to tummy. He always looks so surprised at what happened.

Megan is potty trained during the day, & is still in pull ups at night. YEAH!!! Dora panties and chocolate chips were the key. She's had 2 accidents in 3 weeks and both times announced she pee peed on Dora because she wanted to put on new panties. Meg's had control over the whole process for a while, but she's resisted any time I put pressure on her. I had to wait for her to decide she wanted to be potty trained. Then in typical Megan fashion once she saw Dora panties, announced "Don't pee pee on Dora." she was done. Completely trained. The girl cracks me up.

Silent Reflux

Well, after a month of dealing with Quinn screaming a good portion of the night, every night & 3 trips to the doctor's office it's we're guessing that Quinn has silent reflux. Basically, heartburn in babies. With reflux babies tend to spit up a lot, but silent reflux is where the stomach acid comes up and goes back down so no spit up. As I've been researching it Q does seem to have a lot of the symptoms. I just didn't think anything of them individually, but when they are looked at collectively it makes sense. He's been arching his back during /after feedings, lots of gas, hiccups, coughing at the beginning of feedings. The doctor prescribed prevecid and it seems to be working. He's been a lot easier at night. Quinn may not be back to sleeping 12 hours like he was this time last month, but he's not screaming in pain either. Now when he wakes up he's happy baby & wants to play.
